You dont need a reservation. But if it's on a weekend yiu should definitely get one. Great food! Great service!
Yes food made separately for allergies is made in the kitchen instead of at the tables
$2 as a side
Took my son for his birthday. Was very entertaining watching the cook.
This place is fabulous. The hibachi dinners are incredible. And the sushi is superb. Great atmosphere and the staff are welcoming . Excellent service !!! They can accommodate small groups and large parties. My absolute favorite place.
Its overrated. We went there and first off the prices are high, second the steak was bland, and third the rice or noodles that's supposed to come as a side of my hibachi order came late. Like how did it come late when they cook everything together? The only thing I will say was positive was the soup and the waitress we had. Overall was not impressed for our money spent.
The original Cuse Hibachi. Probably still the best around. Consistently delicious!
Great place for special occasions! Hibachi chefs are amazing!
We love it here. We go at least once a year for our son's birthday and it is always a wonderful experience. Tonight the staff and food was on point as usual! Our server was so fun and helpful. As was our chef who made us ooh and ahh and laugh out loud. Another great birthday @ Ichiban!
Came inside to ask for a table for 2 for dinner. There was no one at the counter when we got there, and they finally came out after a couple minutes. She then disappeared in the back and had us wait for an eternity, as she seemed preoccupied with fulfilling takeout orders, and maybe addressed us once over a 15-20 minute span. Two others came after us and were waiting to get their takeout orders, too. All in all, we waited in the lobby for about 20 minutes before we went somewhere else. Felt very insulted that they treated us like we were invisible, and the restaurant was basically empty!
Here’s a novel idea. If you know that Syracuse.com has listed you as open during the covid-19 pandemic, and that’s not true... maybe change your website to reflect you’re closed, maybe change your google status to reflect you’re closed. It’s fun trying to call and order two nights in a row, and then by chance have a friend send a Facebook status from you that you’re closed. You still get 5-stars... because your food is ridiculously good, but get your act together 😂
This place was great! Used to frequent koto on Erie because of the white dipping sauce. Nothing can compare to that, ichiban satisfied our hibachi needs and then some. Thank you for a great birthday dinner for the wife
As always this place is amazing! Hibachi made to order in front of you while the chef puts on a show will forever be entertaining. Watching someone's perfected craft is inspiring! My personal favorite is the scallops with fried noodles. Come hungry or plan to have another meal to take home because the portions are very generous and reheat well.
We had a Birthday dinner there for my wife with a large group of people. The food was delicious and the service was on point. Very friendly and hospitable staff.
I made reservations for hibachi at 5:30 on 3/1/2020. I showed up a little early but myself and the rest of the folks who had the same reservation piled in and waited because the seating was late. We waited far too long for our server to show up and offer drinks, take our appetizer order, main dish order. Appetizers arrived 20 minutes later and barely warm. The soup was a bland version of chicken noodle. The salad was terrible and too watery as it wasn’t properly drained after rinsing. An hour after being seated, the cook arrived. Why an hour? The cook was absolutely awesome! He engaged with the crowd and made sure everyone was happy. Unlike the server. In the 2 hours we were seated, the server showed up 2 times to refill water. Unacceptable. My two stars are for the long waits for almost everything and the servers lack of attention. The cook was amazing!
We had an amazing experience last night. Our wait on a Saturday night wasn’t long and the place was packed. The hibachi show was enjoyable and the food was delicious.
Love the sushi here, hibachi is always interactive, a staple in my lifetime that I have gone to many times and will continue to visit. They also have extremely good drinks!
Place is very very very very very expensive I dropped close to $300 for 2 adults and 3 kids. Like I said very expensive and food was just ok and I was hungry when I left.
The sushi had no flavor and the stir fry noodles were oddly flavored. The steak in the stir fry noodles was not seasoned at all. The sashimi was very fishy and for the price I would definitely not recommend. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because our waitress was so nice
Stepping inside of the Ichiban arches magically transports you back thirty years to the height of the Hibachi experience. ON the night our family went, we were met with an out of the ordinary wait. The waiting room is located right off the bar, koi pond and all. Everything is very clean, just a food movement or two behind. After being seated, once again we were forced to wait. There were only two hibachi chefs on, rotating from table to table. Luckily, we got the chef sporting 1992 Buffalo Bills regalia. I couldn't have been happier. Although we were forced to wait, we were accommodated. Management made sure we received a few comp drinks and the wait staff made sure our children had food in front of them, to soothe their savage appetites. Once the chef arrived, the meal was excellent and everyone was happy. Overall, I appreciate the meal and thought it was a gas that it looked like our restaurant was in a scene straight out of Hot Tub Time Machine.
Very exciting getting to watch the food being made in front of you and seeing the chefs do neet tricks everything tasted great
Food is very good, as always. Service is perfectly fine. Some chefs are more enthusiastic than others. Sushi is great!
We ordered takeout and waited almost one hour beyond the time we were told it would be ready. We weren't the only people waiting that long either.

Great for large groups going to hibachi or for a date night enjoying sushi or their dinner menu. Great atmosphere too!
Has always been my most favorite Japanese steakhouse. Every time I visit family in Syracuse we also visit this place. The food is delicious, the drinks potent, the service very good and the entertainment, although predictable, is always fun to watch.
Unfortunately, not impressed! There was a bug in my soup, the ginger dressing for salad was like water and was only given one sauce which tasted like wasabi. Also, if you want fried rice it is an extra charge!! Chef and servers were great but will not return.
This has been a staple of my family's special occasions. I have gone here since I was a kid. The interior is weathered but the food is top notch. Pricey but enjoyed it.
Wonderful server, Suzi, nice social distancing & Great food! Had filet mignon, shrimp & seared tuna. All fantastic.
At first on arrival it took less then 2 minutes to sit my wife and myself and get settled to order. After ordering our food it took 2 hours from ordering to paying. We weren't there for hibachi. As follow we got soup which tasted like microwave chicken noodle soup. Then 20 minutes later we finally get salad. Another 20 minutes salad. Another 30 to get an appitizer and sushi came after that. Finally our main course arrived which i thought would be great. I was wrong. It looked like a huge chicken tender with veggies and they advertised a special sauce which turned out to be American BBQ sauce. American BBQ!!! Then finally our rice came last. Last!!!! Our serve was a good spirit however the excuse given to us on why everything was slow was it being a full house and being backed up.i have been to places with full house but they manage to get the food through .it has been awhile since i ate here but it is night and day. It's like the bar was set very low on a Japanese restaurant.
Fun place to eat and meet people. The food is good and service is friendly.
Party of 4. I Ordered special for 2 at table with scallops, chicken and steak. I Upgraded to fried rice and filet, my son did not upgrade to filet. Soup very salty, all agreed. steak was so tough and grisly I could not eat. Discovered they had mixed order and my son got filet. Told waitress of both issues. No offer to rectify. I take family there 2 to 3 times a year. First time I did not get filet, but regular steak should be edible.
